Join ABGC’s Grower Support Team as a Policy Officer and Help Shape the Future of Banana Industry Biosecurity

The Australian Banana Growers’ Council (ABGC) is on the lookout for an experienced and motivated professional to help drive the next phase of our Grower Support (Biosecurity) Program. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and evolving initiative that supports banana growers across Queensland in adopting industry-leading biosecurity practices.

Working closely with the Grower Support (Biosecurity) Program Manager and ABGC management, you’ll play a key role in co-designing and delivering a program that reflects the real-world needs of growers - supporting them through education, engagement, and practical tools to manage on-farm biosecurity risks.

This position is part of the newly renamed Grower Support (Biosecurity) Team, formerly known as the TR4 Control Program. As an industry-led leadership model, the focus is on building trust-based relationships, providing clear policy guidance, and empowering growers to take an active role in safeguarding their farms and the broader industry.

We’re seeking a proactive, collaborative team player - someone who thrives on building connections, solving problems, and bringing positive energy to their work.

The role is ideally based in Moresby or North Queensland, but flexible arrangements are available for the right candidate based in Brisbane, Cairns, or the Cassowary Coast.
